Senior Leadership Transition at HCC

Following their sabbatical in early 2007, Simon and Julia Matthews felt that the time was right to begin the process of handing on the leadership of Huntingdonshire Community Church. As an eldership team we recognise Simon’s passion and calling as an apostle and believe that it is right for us to release him to fulfil that call on his life more fully than he has been able to up until now.

As a church we have an apostolic call to train, equip and send out those who are gifted and able and we see this as a continuation of that call.

Releasing Simon from the leadership of HCC will enable him to focus fully on the work of Plumbline Ministries International, to plant churches, and encourage and train leaders.
HCC, being a church within the Plumbline family, will benefit from the apostolic oversight, guidance and advice of Simon. He will also remain on the board of trustees.

As a church, we will fully support him and Julia in their ministry through prayer and by being their home church and will also share in their financial support.

The eldership team are currently seeking the Lord about a new senior leader with the expectation that appointment will take place mid-2009. Simon and Julia remain fully committed to their leadership positions until that time.

We are excited about these changes and look forward to seeing what God has in store for us as part of His Kingdom over the coming years.
