We recently reviewed Jim Burns' book  Truth Unplugged and he took some time to answer some questions for us.

Describe yourself in 3 words.  Jim Burns
Fun, Faith, Bald

What has been the proudest moment in your life so far?
Either the time I hit a homerun in a Little League baseball (not cricket) game, or the day I married way over my head my college sweetheart, Cathy

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A Professional Baseball player

What has been the most embarrassing moment you’ve had?
There are too many to count but speaking to several thousand students with my zipper accidentally down was the one that came to mind. I wasn’t arrested and a few of several thousand didn’t even notice!

Tell us something that not many people know about you.
I cry at most movies.

What's your favourite fictional book at the moment?
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.  I am reading it for the 5th time.

God led you to be a prolific writer! But how exactly did your book-writing start?
It started out of a passion to help kids make right and wise decisions and as a youth pastor I couldn’t find books on the subjects I was looking for, so I wrote them.

Could you tell us a bit about the organisation you founded, HomeWord: what exciting things are happening?
HomeWord has the privilege to reach out to over a million people everyday through radio broadcasts…It is very humbling to have that many people think you have something important to say! I love our website HomeWord.com and the Understanding Your Teenager Seminars we do for Parents.

We hear you’re working on another book project at the moment. How’s that going?
It is 15 days overdue and I’m only half done. The book is on marriage. I figure one of the things I can do for students is to help their parents have a better marriage.

Finish the following sentence: The best thing young people can do to move forward with God is…
Be faithful, authentic Christ-followers who passionately pursue the Lord. Today to accomplish that, they will need accountability and fellowship, as well as a profound respect for worship. They also need to have fun.
