HCC stands for 'Huntingdonshire Community Church'. The 'community' part of our name is vital to us. We value our corporate times of celebration with the worship and teaching, but we equally value living life together the rest of the week. It is vital to be a community of Christians, sharing life with and supporting each other, but also individually and corporately touching the wider communities around us - in our streets, our neighbourhoods, our workplaces, and our other social networks.
To enable community life to develop, we have a number of cell groups, which we call Life Groups. These are ideally made up of between 6 and 15 individuals who agree to share life together and meet all together in a home once each week. Life Group is where friendship is, a place to introduce our neighbours to Christian community and where each can express personal gifts and ministry.
Our Life Group values are:
All about Jesus
Becoming disciples
Creating community
Doing evangelism
Everybody involved.
Or, to put it even more simply:
Loving God
Loving each other
Loving the lost.
Each group aims to grow in number and multiply within two years of forming and each person is responsible for the well being of the rest of the group, praying and caring for each other on a daily basis. Nurturing the growth of new believers is part of this care.
Finding a Life Group where you are comfortable is a priority. This may be by a choice of existing relationships, or if you prefer, by the location of where you live, since spending time together is so important. Our groups are listed by the Link and general location of the meeting. The Life Group Link facilitates each group; please introduce yourself to a Link to investigate involvement with a group. |
