Children's Work
Children are a vital part of this church, making an important contribution to building God’s kingdom now and in the future.
Our vision is to establish firm foundations in the lives of all of our children, with the desire that each one will come to a personal belief and trust in Jesus. We believe in teaching Christian principles and Bible stories to each of our children at a level that they will be able to comprehend and respond to. We are committed to seeing each child grow in their relationship with God, and will seek to discern and develop their personal gifts.
Children are encouraged to take an active part in the time of worship with the whole church. After this time, those aged 0 to 10 years leave the main meeting for their own time of teaching and activity. These groups are called Conquerors and are divided into the following bands: 0-3, 3-4, 5-7, 8-10.
Occasionally a Sunday is given to a meeting when the whole church family remains together, the content of which is adapted to suit all ages.
On some other Sundays the children have their own meeting for the entire morning, where they learn to worship together, and enjoy varied activities.
Those who supervise and teach the children come from varied backgrounds and experience, some of whom are professionally trained. Above all we want to provide a safe and predictable environment in which the children can learn and enjoy themselves.
We feel that it is important that parents are fully informed of what their children are learning each Sunday, so that they are able to build on that teaching. To do this, we regularly send information home with children.
HCC operates a child protection policy, a copy of which is available on request. |
